The world’s first international partnership focused on supporting rapid growth ventures that are positioned to close the global literacy gap by 2030.

Pearson and Unreasonable Group share a belief that entrepreneurs are uniquely positioned to develop new models and breakthrough technologies needed to close the global literacy gap by 2030. This is where Project Literacy Lab comes into focus. Leveraging the Project Literacy platform, Pearson and Unreasonable co-founded a new initiative to wrap resources around the fastest growing ventures worldwide that are already solving key challenges tied to illiteracy.

The inaugural Project Literacy Lab brought together 16 ventures, across 5 continents, for a two-week accelerator outside of San Francisco, California, last July. Over the course of this program, we aligned these entrepreneurs with resources, mentorship, access to financing, and a global network of support to help them scale more rapidly across multiple regions and countries. As these companies continue to scale over time, we will become an R&D and insights engine into the rest of the world – highlighting patterns around what is and isn’t working – in our shared effort to sustainably ensure universal literacy.
